On behalf of the PCR section, the new PCR leadership 2024-28 extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your leadership and dedication over the past four years. As Co-Chairs and Co-Vice-Chairs from diverse academic institutions across the globe, you have steered the PCR section with expertise and commitment, ensuring it remains a vibrant and dynamic section of IAMCR.
Your efforts have been particularly commendable during the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the disruptions and uncertainties, you managed to maintain a sense of community, foster meaningful academic exchanges, and adapt swiftly to virtual platforms. Your resilience and innovative approaches not only sustained our activities but also enriched them, allowing us to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
Ana Duarte Melo and Jonas Agerbæk, your willingness to stand for re-election is a testament to your enduring dedication and the positive impact you have made. Dorismilda Flores-Márquez, Piyu Gong, Arun John, and Ana Lúcia Nunes de Sousa, your contributions have left an indelible mark on our section, inspiring us to continue striving for excellence.
Thank you once again for your invaluable service. We look forward to building on your legacy and continuing the momentum you have established.

Dear PCR Members,
We are thrilled to announce the election of the new PCR leadership team for 2024-2028. As Co-Chairs, Jessica Noske-Turner and Lauren Dyll, alongside Vice-Chairs Aniruddha Jena and Amit Verma, we extend our warmest greetings to all of you.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the outgoing leadership team—Ana Duarte Melo, Dorismilda Flores-Márquez, Jonas Agerbæk, Piyu Gong, Arun John, and Ana Lúcia Nunes de Sousa—for their guidance and support during this smooth transition. Their dedication and hard work have set a strong foundation for us to build upon.
As we embark on this new journey, we are excited to collaborate closely with all PCR members. Together, we aim to enhance the vibrancy and activity of our section through innovative plans for collaborations and networks. 3/ IAMCR CHRISTCHURCH 2024 | PCR PROGRAM RECAP
As IAMCR Christchurch 2024 concludes, we are delighted to share that the PCR programme was a resounding success, fulfilling all our expectations and more.
PCR Keynote Session
Maja Zonjić's keynote on "The university as a relational space: challenging colonial continuities in higher education through participatory approaches to teaching and learning alongside students in Aotearoa" was a profound start to our programme. Held on 1 July at 8:30 AM, this session honored our tradition of engaging with the hosting community and provided invaluable insights into the participatory experiences of local territories.
Communication and Participation for Social Justice and Democracy
The panel organized by Vaia Doudaki on "Visions, debates, and struggles" was an important session for the Communication, Social Justice, and Democracy (CSD) Working Group. This engaging discussion provided critical perspectives on the intersection of communication, social justice, and democratic practices.
From 1 July to 4 July, the Participatory Communication Research Section hosted 10 sessions that were both engaging and academically insightful. PCR Business Meeting
The PCR Business Meeting on 4 July at 2:00 PM at Te Pae Conway 2 marked the end of the current leadership's mandate and the transition to our new management team. A symbolic tribute was paid to our colleague Arun John. The meeting was a fruitful opportunity to discuss our plans, achievements, and future opportunities for the section.
Get Together
The social gathering on 1 July at 7:15 PM at The Church Pub was a delightful conclusion to our first day. This event was instrumental in strengthening our existing associations and forging new ones, fostering a sense of community and conviviality.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making IAMCR Christchurch 2024 a memorable and academically enriching experience.

Theme: Communicating Environmental Justice: Many Voices, One Health
IAMCR is excited to announce that IAMCR 2025 will be held in Singapore from 13-17 July. This year's theme, "Communicating Environmental Justice: Many Voices, One Health," will explore the intersection of environmental justice and communication. We encourage all members to attend and contribute to the discussions on this critical topic.
