Book talk "Intersectional Political Economy of Media"
11 March, 2025 - The Political Economy Section will host a webinar to launch the book "Intersectionality, Political Economy, and Media" by Carolyn Byerly. The webinar will explain the logic of integrating feminist theory, critical race theory, and critical political economy theory. Register by 9 March.
PhD Symposium in China
28-29 March, 2025 - IAMCR will co-sponsor an International Symposium for PhD students and early-career scholars in China. The event is co-organized by Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and the Communication University of China (CUC).
CfP - Community and alternative media conference
29-30 May, 2025 - Galway, Ireland - The Community Communication and Alternative Media Section is organising a face-to-face conference in Galway, Ireland, to explore how critical engagement with media can foster more inclusive, equitable societies. The submission deadline is 15 April.
Digital Divide Symposium
17 April, 2025 - The Digital Divide Working Group in collaboration with the Mass Media Research Group at the University of Sharjah (UAE) will host a research symposium on "Digital Capital and Political Power" to be held on 17 April 2025 at the University of Sharjah.
Political Communication regional conference
20-22 May, 2025 - The Political Communication Research Section will host its first Regional Conference for Latin America, sponsored by the Institute of Government Sciences and Strategic Development at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico.
