
For the fifth consecutive year, ISM/WG is offering its award for the best research presented at the IAMCR conference, this year in Singapore. The reward aims to encourage scholars to submit the full manuscript for evaluation and to raise the quality of papers presented at the conference. The evaluation process includes a committee that decides the scores of 50 for each paper in meeting the following criteria:
- Originality of the paper& relevance to Islam and media.
- Research methods and overall organization.
- Language and writing style.
- Comprehensiveness and cohesiveness of literature review.
- Conclusion and contribution to existing knowledge.
This year, ISM/WG received ten research papers, three of which won the Nile award and acknowledgement certificates. The awards have been delivered on Wednesday, 16th of July 22, during the first panel of ISM/WG.
The Nile awards went to the following papers:
- “Media Activism on Zakat for Women Victims of Violence in Indonesia”, co-authored by: Prof. Eni Maryani - Padjadjaran University, Mrs Kismiyati Al Karimah- Padjadjaran University, and Mrs Dyan Rahmiati- Universitas Brawijaya.


- “Representation of Chinese Green Brands in Arab social media and Impacts on Arab Gen Z Youth”, co-authored by: Prof. Ke Guo & Ms. Hui Zhou - Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).


- “Creating a Sustainable Information Ecosystem Using Proposed Islamic Perspectives-Driven Framework”, co-authored by: Dr. Muhammed Jamiu Mustapha - RUND University, and Mr. Mutiu Iyanda Lasisi - HSE University.

The Islam and Media W/G congratulates all winners and wishes them every success in their future research. It also extends thanks to the scholars who accept the roles of chairing the sessions and discussing the papers, along with the attendees who engaged with valuable comments and conversations.
