IAMCR 2025 offers opportunities for IAMCR members and partners to organise conferences, seminars and workshops immediately prior to or immediately after the main IAMCR conference hosted in Singapore from 13-17 July 2025.
Pre-/post-conferences can be from a half-day to two days in duration and take place at or near the location. They may also take place in locations that are a natural stopping off point for international travellers. The events seek to make efficient use of resources, such as participant travel and availability of speakers, to the benefit of both the main IAMCR conference and the pre-/post-conference event.
Pre-/post-conference events can be organised by individual or institutional IAMCR members alone, or in partnership with others. Approved events will be featured on the IAMCR 2025 website, social media and newsletters. Pre-/post-conference organisers are expected to promote their association with IAMCR 2025 and to encourage participants and speakers to attend the main conference.
IAMCR and pre-/post-conference event organisers are invited to explore possibilities for cooperation with the main conference, for example: reporting back to the main conference, collaboration on costs of invited speakers, joint publications, etc.
Event organisers should submit a formal application for consideration by the Conference Organising Committee (COC), composed of members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and IAMCR’s Executive Board.
Securing a Venue
Pre-/Post-conference event organisers are invited to submit their applications with a venue preference. The IAMCR LOC will provide a list of venues and contact information (to follow).
For more information on venues within Nanyang Technological University, please reach out to Tan Boon Huat at TBHTan@ntu.edu.sg.
Venue Options
- Nanyang Technological University (NTU): The IAMCR 2025 LOC can offer limited space at NTU for post-conference events and can recommend catering options. However, the organisation of post-conference activities will be the responsibility of the applicants. NTU is not a recommended pre-conference venue, because rooms will have to be prepared for the main conference.
- Other Public Universities in Singapore: Singapore’s five additional public universities may also have limited space available for pre-/post-conference events.
- Hotel and Meeting Venues: The LOC will share a list of potential venues, including hotels, for hosting meetings and events.
Information about possible venues will be shared in due time. Contact IAMCR2025_NTUSG@ntu.edu.sg
Fees
Event organisers may charge a reasonable registration fee to cover costs. If a fee is charged, it is expected that IAMCR members will be eligible for a discounted rate. IAMCR is not able to provide support for registration, collection of fees or reception of proposals.
How To Apply
If you want to organise a pre-/post-conference event, please complete this application form. Two application periods are open with the following deadlines: 9 January and 9 February. Decisions will be made 2-3 weeks after each deadline. We strongly recommend that you send your application as soon as possible. Please note that there are limited opportunities and there may be no space left by February 2025.
Email the completed application form to Bruce Girard at bgirard@iamcr.org. Venue selections can be omitted for now and added once the list of venues is available.
