Getting to NTU via public transport
Singapore has an efficient public transport system with the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and buses covering extensive routes. Download the MyTransport SG app (iOS | Android) for handy information on train operating times, station exits, public bus services and bus arrival times. You also download the Singapore MRT map for a comprehensive overview of the MRT system. You can pay for public transport with Contactless bank cards and mobile wallets. Cash payment is only possible on buses and costs more. At registration, you will receive an EZ-Link Card preloaded with SGD 5.00, which can be used on Singapore’s public transport network. Learn how to top up the card here.
Take the MRT to the Pioneer MRT Station (on the green line at the far left of the MRT map) and then bus #179 or 179a will take you to the University. The bus runs every 4 to 7 minutes from 0600-2400 hrs from Monday to Saturday and 0630-0020 on Sundays. Please see bus service information here. The bus does a loop to and around the NTU campus. You can get off at “Wee Kim Wee Sch of C&I” to reach the Wee Kim Wee School, or at “Academic Building South” for the conference venue area, which includes Gaia, The Hive, and the SHHK Building. Most venues are also accessible on foot via well-marked pedestrian paths. Google Maps is helpful for walking directions within campus. Watch for our guides in bright green IAMCR t-shirts when you get off the bus. They will help you get where you want to go.
Taxis or ride-hailing apps
Taxis in Singapore are metered, with surcharges based on time, route and service type. If you flag a cab on the street or at a taxi stand, ask the driver about potential surcharges before starting your trip and request a receipt. You can also book your rides via an app such as: ComfortDelGro, Grab, Gojek, Ryde or TADA (Uber doesn't serve Singapore). If you're going to registration, plenary and parallel sessions, drop off at Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Building Nanyang Technological University. Watch for our guides in bright green IAMCR t-shirts who will help you get to the respective venues.
Conference Shuttle Service (between on-campus accommodation and the conference venues)
If you're staying in the on-campus residences we are providing a dedicated conference shuttle service between the on-campus accommodation and main conference venues. The shuttle will run at 10-minute intervals in the mornings and evening from Monday to Thursday:
- Morning (07:30 – 08:30): Nanyang Crescent Halls → Chinese Heritage Centre → WKWSCI
- Evening (17:30 – 18:30): WKWSCI → Chinese Heritage Centre → Nanyang Crescent Halls
The Chinese Heritage Centre stop serves nearby venues like The Hive, SHHK, Gaia, and LKC.
