It is my great pleasure to welcome the IAMCR 2026 conference to Galway, a place well known as Ireland's Cultural Heart and a city renowned for its creativity, storytelling, and strong sense of community.
Galway has long been a meeting place of ideas – from the vibrant arts scene that fills our streets and festivals to the innovation emerging from our universities and media industries. It is fitting, then, that scholars and practitioners from around the world will gather here to explore the power of media and communication in shaping our societies.
